Community Resource Officer Survey

This Department is currently conducting a survey of local businesses and residents in the hope of creating and maintaining a Community Resource program. This will include a Police Officer dedicated to Community Policing. This officer would help resolve any communication gaps that currently exist between you, your business, and your local Police Department. Other duties of the CR Officer would also include maintaining local programs such as Neighborhood Watch / Business Watch (a national organization created to help reduce theft/burglary and vandalism crimes similar to Block Watch) , in-home checks on the Elderly and Handicap residents who are unable to leave their homes on a regular basis, and enforcement of local Municipal Codes (Animal Control, Illegal Dumping, etc.).

Please help us by completing this survey. All information is kept confidential and will be used only to determine a need for a Community Resource Officer. We feel that this Officer would be beneficial to you and our city and we appreciate any information you provide.

  1. Do you believe that your local Department is moving in a positive direction?


  2. Have you had trouble in the past contacting an officer and do you feel that a proper response was made?


  3. If you do not feel that a proper response was made, what do you believe the Officer or Department could have done to better address your issue?


  4. Do you feel safe at your current business and/or residence? If not, what are your concerns?


  5. Would you like to have an officer available to visit with you on a regular basis to address your issues as they arise. How often would you like this officer to visit with you?


  6. Are you, or do you know of someone who is, elderly or handicap and unable to leave your/their home on a regular basis? If you are in this situation, and would like to schedule a visit with an officer, please include your name and a contact number or address in your reply. We will be in contact with you soon.


  7. Do you feel that a Neighborhood Watch program would be beneficial to you? Would you be interested in hosting the program (under the direction of the Community Resource Officer) in your area of town? If so, please include your contact information in your reply.
